Abstract

Background : Anaemia is one of the famous disorders which spreading between women during pregnancy and considered one of the risks that surround both mother and foetus, this phenomena is more common in developing countries. Methods : The aim of this study is to evaluate haemoglobin (Hb) levels and detect the other related risks in 200 pregnant women, the study done in healthcare centre in Bab Al-Mouadum, Baghdad Al Iraq, The data were collected in period between 15 October and 15 November 2023. By using questionnaire and interview, the statistical analyses is done by expert, and its including descriptive statistics and Chi-square tests. Results: The results revealed that there is a high prevalence of anaemia between the pregnant women who's participated in the questionnaire, most of the women whose had anaemia were from the younger women, women whose with lower educational levels and women who have had more than one deliveries, that indicate to the importance of socioeconomic and reproductive factors in causing anaemia in women. Conclusion: Several tests were done, including Hb levels, red blood cell morphology, and evaluations of haematocrit percentages. To evaluated all cases accurately and we fined that the life style like educational levels, diet, health care routine(iron supplementation), have a strong effect on the probability of anaemia in pregnant women.
