Abstract

The spread of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and nickel is a clear danger that threatens the earth and disrupts the ecological balance. In this research, we evaluated the danger of these metals present in the areas of traffic points for traffic policemen who are present for long periods at traffic points. 25 blood samples were collected from traffic policemen present at traffic points, with information about age, date of joining the job, and smoking, The comparison was made with the same number of samples of people who were in a job inside buildings, The results showed a significant increase in the values of nickel and cadmium compared to the control group, while there was no significant difference for the lead metal test. Age played a role in the accumulation of the intended amounts of metals, as the questionnaire collected from traffic policemen showed that the older the person, the higher the concentration of these metals in the blood, It was noted that the longer the period of work at traffic intersections, the higher the value of lead. According to the values that have been reached, we conclude that the polluted environment in which traffic policemen work may be a future danger that threatens health if work in it continues for very long periods.
